Marie Osmond Reveals She Had Breast Reduction Surgery

Many wonder if Marie Osmond has had cosmetic surgery. Undoubtedly a natural beauty throughout her entire career, Marie has openly talked about her breast reduction surgery and laser facial treatments to feel more comfortable in her skin.

Marie Osmond’s breast reduction surgery history was revealed in 2013 when she appeared on “The Talk.” The singer’s admission comes just two months after “Talk” co-host Julie Chen announced that she underwent upper eyelid surgery as a young woman.

“I was like an E cup,” she said of her ample bosom, as reported by E! News. “Seriously, women can get so big and you look like human zippers. And honestly, I did it too because my back hurt. I don’t get the big boob thing.”

As an up-and-coming actress and entertainer, Osmond said she was uncomfortable with the unwanted attention she received because of her breast size. She wanted to be taken seriously as an artist and decided that reducing her breast size would be the best way to achieve that goal.

Marie Osmond’s breast reduction is not that unique. In fact, most women who pursue breast reduction surgery report positive results. Furthermore, a study from 2012 reported: 95% of breast reduction patients were satisfied with their results. The study also notes that breast reduction surgery improved the quality of life for most of the surveyed patients.

Osmond is not the only Hollywood star to buck the trend of enhancing her assets and, instead, choosing to bring them down to a manageable size. Queen Latifah, Patricia Heaton, and Denise Richards have all recently revealed that they underwent surgery to reduce the size of their large breasts.

Celebrities who grow up in the spotlight, like Marie, often enhance their looks with various cosmetic procedures. The mix of on-stage performances and public appearances put pressure on public figures like Marie to look beyond their absolute best.
