If you’re in your twenties, thirties or even forties, your social media news feed is likely filled with engagement ring snap shots. It seems like every day there is a new Facebook friend getting engaged. Although we’re tempted to judge the ring by the size of the rock, some of us may also judge the bride by her hand. Yes, you read that right.
Getting that Perfect Look
Nowadays, brides feel the need to look perfect even before they walk down the aisle. This is why they spend lots of time picking out the right nail polish color. However, in addition to getting a fresh new manicure, many newly engaged women are also opting for cosmetic surgery on their hands before they take that ring finger selfie.
Recently wedding blog TheKnot reported that a New York City plastic surgeon is offering what they call a “hand lift.” Essentially, this works similarly as a facelift. Once your hand is injected with fillers it looks younger and fuller for about nine months. The procedure itself takes only 10 minutes, but it will run you around $1,200.
“What we’re doing today is basically using a filler called Juvederm and it lasts nine months,” the New York plastic surgeon told a local news station PIX 11. “What we want to achieve is a plump, smooth surface so we don’t see any of those underlining structures.”
Show Off Your Perfect Look
Ultimately, the popularity of showing off your ring on social media has definitely made this cosmetic surgery trend increase. If you’re interested in getting plastic surgery before you walk down the aisle or take your engagement photos, be sure to contact the Lett Center!
