Although plastic surgery may elicit thoughts of older patients with extremely wrinkled faces or sagging skin, a new trend is emerging among younger patients.

According to CBS Philly, a growing number of people in their 20s are having plastic surgery procedures done. Surrounded by strong social media presence of celebrities, airbrushed marketing and thin models, many feel as if the change is not only doable, but necessary.
Why Are Millennials Getting Plastic Surgery?
Many feel as if the constant attention on perfect appearances of others such as smooth, blemish-free skin and wrinkle-free necks cause hyper focus on their own looks.

There is also a consensus of change in the abilities of plastic surgery. Once viewed as an action taken in secret and hidden under the guise of “natural” aging and changes, plastic surgery seems to be everywhere now.
Millennials made up five percent of plastic surgery patients in 2013. This number has doubled, now sitting at 10 percent for 2015.
What Work Are Millennials Getting Done?
Younger patients are having different procedures than their older counterparts. Some of these include Botox, chemical peels and lip augmentations. Other patients are choosing to take care of their skin, diminishing acne scars with a range of fillers.
Botox is one of the most popular enhancement choices according to The American Society of Plastic Surgery. Botox reduces the activity of the muscles that cause frown lines between the brows, as well as around the nose and mouth.
