GENTLEYAG®

An excellent hair removal laser. By targeting the hair follicle deeply in the dermis of the skin, it can create significant reduction in hair counts. Candela®’s Dynamic Cooling of the skin further protects the upper layers of the skin from unwanted side effects. The Nd:YAG laser is an infrared laser that delivers invisible energy deeply into the skin. By heating its targets slowly, it is very effective and safe. This is especially true for darker skinned individuals who would not normally be candidates for laser procedures.

FAQ ABOUT LASER HAIR REMOVAL

Laser hair removal is a very common procedure that most patients find to be well tolerated. Those who have sensitive areas, such as the underarms and ankles may experience some discomfort during treatment with laser light; however, it’s not severe enough for them to stop going through this process every six weeks or so! Some people say it feels like a rubber band snapping against their skin, while others say it feels more like a vibration or an electric shock.

The staff at The Lett Center will make sure you’re comfortable throughout your appointment by offering topical anesthetics if needed- we always aim towards making these visits enjoyable experiences so please let us know how things should go down beforehand when possible!

Laser hair removal reduces hair growth and may not always result in the permanent removal of 100% of body hairs. This treatment works by targeting and destroying follicles, making it impossible for new growth to regenerate in that follicle. Once the follicle is gone a new hair won’t ever regenerate in that area. However, new follicles can develop and this can result in new unwanted hairs.

That said, it can offer long-term results, significantly reducing the need for regular shaving or other hair removal methods.

Laser hair removal is a long-lasting solution that can be achieved through multiple treatments. Patients will need an average of 3 to 5 sessions about 4 to 8 weeks apart, depending on which areas are being treated and their personal chemistry with the treatment itself!

The field of cosmetic dermatology has made tremendous advances in laser hair removal, allowing most men and women of various skin tones to be considered candidates for the procedure. Laser hair removal is most effective on people with light skin and dark hair. Patients with darker skin typically achieve best results when fewer treatments are needed but patients from all types can still see a dramatic reduction in their growth using this technology today! Your provider will assess your skin type during an initial consultation so they may select appropriate settings based on it – after which you’ll begin seeing real differences right away.

With Clarity II, most patients experience a mild “snapping” on the skin as the laser is moved over the treatment area. It’s usually not too painful, but some areas (like the bikini line) can be more sensitive than others. Clarity has a specialized skin-cooling system that provides a more comfortable treatment.

Depending on the size of the area to be treated, it can take anywhere from 5-30 minutes.

While you may see some hair reduction from your first treatment, hair grows in cycles, which requires several treatments to effectively remove unwanted hair growth. Most patients need at least five treatments, spaced 4-8 weeks apart, for optimal results.

Usually the area to be treated should be shaved first to ensure a more comfortable and effective treatment. However, your provider will provide you with detailed instructions prior to your series of treatments.
