The American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) recently announced that breast lift procedures are growing in frequency at twice the rate of breast implants. Since year 2000, breast lifts have grown by 70 percent and are now outnumbering implants by two-to-one.

According to the new statistics, women between the ages of 30-54 made up nearly 70 percent of the breast lift procedures performed in 2013. Many plastic surgeons contribute the increase in breast lifts to new moms, who seek surgery after giving birth and breast feeding. Childbirth often results in the fluctuation of weight, which, combined with breast feeding, can certainly make a woman’s chest appear saggy.

“Overall women are seeking ways to look more youthful and a breast lift does exactly that. It lifts and reconfigures the breast, using existing tissue, into a more youthful shape and position on the chest,” Dr. Cangello, a New York based plastic surgeon, told Beauty World News.

Another reason for the rise of breast lifts is the prevalence of weight loss surgery. As mentioned above, significant weight loss can leave breasts looking deflated and droopy. Therefore, more and more women are seeking the perkiness of their pre-weight loss breasts with the thin physique of their body post-surgery.

Many new moms admit that a breast lift can certainly make them feel more confident. As a mother, it’s very important to put yourself first once and a while.
