When you think of Hollywood Glamour, who immediately springs to mind? As gorgeous as some of today’s starlets may be, chances are you still see Marilyn Monroe as the ultimate red carpet icon – and you aren’t alone. Monroe’s image has endured over the decades, and we just can’t seem to shake our fascination with the stunning but incredibly troubled actress.

While the platinum blonde’s beauty is certainly undeniable, its origins have been widely discussed for years. Was she a natural show-stopper, or an early pioneer of cosmetic surgery?

According to Reuters, though, we may finally have a definitive answer to this enduring question. The new outlet reports that physician’s notes that reference Monroe’s nips and tucks will be on sale at Julien’s Auctions in California in November.

“Nobody really thought about Marilyn Monroe having plastic surgery. It was always speculation,” Julien’s Auctions executive director Martin Nolan told the source in a recent interview. “At that time, going back to the 1950s, people didn’t go for plastic surgery procedures. This is very, very new.”

The documents reportedly reference a chin implant and provide some grounds for the rumors that Monroe – who was born Norma Jeane Mortenson – underwent a minor nose job.

More power to Marilyn Monroe if the rumors turn out to be true, since plastic surgery was nowhere near as widely accepted in her time as it is now. If you are interested in a nip and tuck yourself, don’t hesitate to contact board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Lett at the Lett Center in Lebanon, Tennessee to discuss the procedure of your choice.
