The temperature is plummeting here in the Greater Nashville area, and the extreme weather can take an unfortunate toll on your looks. It's worth taking extra steps this winter to care for your body and skin. Here are some tips from The Lett Center:

  • Hydrate: It's easy to get dehydrated without realizing it in winter, which can hurt your overall health as well as your appearance. Try to keep water handy at all times and get in the habit of sipping it throughout the day. Be sure you are also properly moisturizing your skin.
  • Exfoliate: You may need to step up your exfoliation regimen during the cold months, to get rid of dry, dead tissue cells and give your skin that fresh, dewy look you crave. Just be sure to stay away from harsh scrubs, which can damage skin, causing little rips and tears. Instead, we suggest investing in regular chemical peels. They deeply exfoliate, removing damaged outer layers of tissue and improving texture and tone. For best results, we recommend getting a series of six peels. Microdermabrasion is another effective exfoliation treatment that we offer at The Lett Center.
  • Use gentler products: Cleansers and lotions that might work well during the warm, humid summer months can start wreaking havoc on your skin as soon as the mercury drops. Many people find they need to switch to gentler, richer products this time of year. Visit The Lett Center and ask our skincare experts which products are right for you.
